Navigating the Tumor Terrain: Deciphering Immune Cell Interactions

Ebrahimi-Nik’s Laboratory, situated within the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) and the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO), is devoted to unraveling the complex interactions between immune cells and tumor cells.

Our research focuses on elucidating the functional dynamics of CD8 T cells that demonstrate tumor-rejecting capabilities.

We are dedicated to comprehending the multifaceted factors that contribute to the persistence and efficacy of tumor-rejecting CD8 T cells within the suppressive environment of the tumor.

Our Approach

Using a range of cutting-edge techniques—including but not limited to single cell RNA sequencing paired with TCR, CRISPR, and western blot on rare cells—we aim to push the boundaries of tumor immunology research.

Through these and other functional experiments, we strive to improve our understanding of the immune system’s interactions with tumors and to uncover new therapeutic opportunities.
